What else this rule says
- Online the photograph is a JPEG between 70 KB and 3.5 MB, with 1200 x 1600 pixels preferred — three to four, where the paper print is seven to nine, so it is a rule of its own with nothing to put on paper. A scan or a photograph of a printed photo is not accepted, glasses come off, and Home Affairs says it does not recommend online photo services or apps for this: check the result against its examples.
- No head-height band is published for this one, and its frame is not the usual one, so ICAO’s figures do not carry over. The band shown is a loose one read out of what the rule says in words; it is guidance and is never marked as a failure.

What the tool does with them
- Locks the crop to this document’s shape, and draws the head and eye bands inside it, so you can see the rule on your own photograph instead of reading about it.
